Ikat Bohemian Blue Hand-Knotted Sari Silk Carpet 4' x 6'

Quick facts: hand-knotted silk · size 4' x 6' · for living room, bedroom, entryway · free shipping across India.

This bohemian Ikat carpet in blue is hand-knotted from sari silk and cut to 4' x 6'. Silk reflects light, so the blue can look deeper in one corner of the room and brighter in another, depending on the time of day. Blue and silk together look best in a calm room, with plain walls and natural fabrics.

Material and make

Knotting is done by hand, with each knot tied separately and the pile sheared level at the end. Silk is a refined fibre: glossy, delicate and happiest in rooms that see gentle use. Professional cleaning is the sensible choice for anything stubborn.

In the room

Use it where it will be seen but not trampled: beside a bed, in a reading corner or in front of a sofa. A compact size like this also suits a hallway landing that is rarely used, or a study. A carpet of this size can also lie across the foot of a bed.

Care

Vacuum with the beater bar off and a soft attachment, turn the carpet occasionally, and press a clean cloth onto spills. If you move furniture, lift it rather than dragging it across the silk. Put a protective mat under any furniture that will stay on the silk for a long time.
