Persian Floral Black Hand-Knotted Wool & Silk Carpet 9' x 12'

Quick facts: hand-knotted wool & silk · size 9' x 12' · for living room, bedroom, entryway · free shipping across India.

This Persian floral hand-knotted wool and silk carpet is black, a dramatic ground for a classic design. The dark colour gives the florals a strong frame, and the silk adds a gentle sheen that catches the light. At 9' x 12' it is a large carpet for an open living room or a big bedroom.

Material and make

Each knot is tied by hand and the pile is sheared even, so the carpet is dense and long-wearing. Wool contributes resilience and warmth, while silk adds a soft sheen to the pattern. Because silk is delicate, a room with moderate footfall suits this carpet best.

In the room

At 9' x 12' it is large enough for a sofa, armchairs and coffee table to rest fully on the carpet, or for a bed and its bedside tables. In a dining room it leaves space for chairs to slide out. Light walls and pale floors let the black stand out.

Care

Use the vacuum on a gentle setting with the beater bar disabled, and give the carpet an occasional turn. Pat spills dry straight away, and entrust deeper cleaning to a professional who handles silk. Heavy furniture legs are best kept on felt pads to protect the silk.
