The composition

A field built from blocks of soft turquoise, deep red, sun yellow, mid blue, sage green, and faded violet, arranged without symmetry so the eye moves across the rug. Underlying carpet patterns ghost through within each block as faint figures. Each section carries the variation of its own dye lot. The whole reads as a single composition built out of many smaller works rather than as a collage.
