Eros Bohemian Grey Hand-Knotted Sari Silk Carpet 9' x 12'

Quick facts: hand-knotted silk · size 9' x 12' · for living room, bedroom, entryway · free shipping across India.

This Eros hand-knotted sari silk carpet is a soft grey with a bohemian, easygoing look. Grey is one of the most adaptable colours in a room: it quietens bright cushions, flatters wood and sits well with both warm and cool walls. At 9' x 12' it is a large carpet, made for open living rooms and big bedrooms.

Material and make

Hand-knotted construction means each knot was tied by hand on an upright loom before the pile was sheared even, giving a dense surface that wears well. Silk contributes a soft sheen, which is most noticeable on a grey ground when light falls across it. As silk is a fine fibre, a carpet this size is best placed where chairs and heavy furniture do not drag across it.

In the room

At 9' x 12' the carpet is large enough for a sofa, armchairs and a coffee table to sit fully on it, or for a bed with its bedside tables on top. In a dining room it leaves space for chairs to be pulled out without catching the edge. Allow a margin of bare floor all round so the grey frames the furniture.

Care

Switch the beater bar off before vacuuming, and turn the carpet end for end from time to time so the wear is shared. Silk needs a professional cleaner, so book one rather than trying a home shampoo.
