Populous Bohemian Multicolour Handwoven Jute Dhurrie Carpet 6' x 9'

Quick facts: handwoven jute · size 6' x 9' · for living room, bedroom, entryway · free shipping across India.

Populous is a large bohemian carpet, a handwoven jute dhurrie with a multicolour geometric design, sized 6' x 9'. At this size it can define a whole seating area, bringing a patterned, natural-fibre base to a living room or a roomy bedroom. The mixed colours make it easy to match with existing furniture. A larger flat carpet like this is a straightforward way to cover bare floor without the weight and bulk of a deep pile.

Material and make

Flatweave construction means no knotted pile: the yarns are woven by hand, leaving the carpet flat, light and easy to move even at this size. Jute is a natural plant fibre with an earthy, textured surface, and it is best used in dry rooms. Slight variations in size and shade are part of handwoven work.

In the room

Under a sofa-and-table group, a 6' x 9' carpet can have the legs of the main pieces resting on it, or it can fill the floor space in front of a bed. Because the weave is flat, it is easy to roll up for cleaning underneath. Leave some floor showing at the edges for a neat finish.

Care

Vacuum without a beater bar and, if possible, shake out the carpet outdoors now and then. Dab up spills quickly and keep the jute dry.
