Rugsville Karlee Abstract Multi Modern Carpet 6'3" x 9'3"

The modern register in this rug sits in conversation with mid-century European textile design and contemporary Indian studio practice. The drawing was tested in three colour ways and two scales before the final cut. The chosen version balances graphic clarity against the demands of daily use.

The multi composition was mocked up in painted artwork, then translated into a digital pattern file at full resolution before going to the jacquard loom. The studio approved a strike-off sample at full scale before signing off on the production run.

The composition

The multi field is laid out so that no single area dominates. The eye travels across the surface rather than landing in one corner. The drawing pairs with walnut, oak, brass, leather, and linen; it tolerates strongly patterned upholstery less well, since the rug is built to be the graphic note in the composition. In a room with art on the walls, hang the work in matching tonal families and let the rug do the chromatic anchoring.

The fibre

Heat-set polypropylene. The colour is locked into the fibre by temperature rather than printed onto the surface, which is why saturation does not fade under direct sunlight. The yarn resists staining at a molecular level; coffee, juice, and wine lift with a damp cloth before they set. The pile recovers from furniture compression overnight and does not shed; there is no fibre residue to vacuum out of soft furnishings around the rug.

Why this rug

The piece works as the visual ground for a room without asking for the careful handling that a hand-knotted carpet demands. The multi register is calibrated for design-forward interiors that also have to accommodate daily life. Children, pets, and casual eating all share the floor with the rug without the owner having to think about it.

Care

Vacuum weekly. Spot clean with mild detergent on a clean cloth. The rug folds into a domestic washing drum on a cold 30 °C cycle if a stain resists spot cleaning. Air-dries flat in two to three hours. No professional cleaning required across the life of the rug.
