The fibre

The pile is heat-set polypropylene, with the colour bonded into the strand at the extrusion stage. The rug holds saturation under sunlight, blocks staining at the fibre level, and recovers from compression. There is no pile shedding across the lifetime of the rug.

The drawing was specified by a studio that designs across both wool and synthetic categories. The transfer to a heat-set fibre keeps the design intent intact while opening the price band; the multi composition reads with the same authority it would carry in a knotted edition, at a fraction of the weaver-months and a fraction of the price.
