The drawing references the soft palettes and worn surfaces of vintage Anatolian carpet, brought into a contemporary studio idiom. The composition was iterated across months of sample weaves before final production approval. The result is a piece that carries the visual memory of an antique without the cost, the conservation overhead, or the structural fragility that comes with a hundred-year-old textile.
The piece was woven on a jacquard loom in Turkey, where the working studio drawing translates directly into the warp instructions for the machine. Density runs at around six hundred thousand pile points per square metre, which is why the pattern stays crisp at a viewer's distance and the colour reads honestly from edge to edge across the field.
The fibre
Heat-set synthetic fibre, dyed at the yarn stage. Colour is fixed into the staple by temperature rather than printed on the surface, which is what holds the saturation through years of sunlight. The yarn is non-absorbent: spills stay on top of the pile and lift with a damp cloth.
The composition
The colour reads as multicoloured, with the pattern softened in the manner of a vintage carpet that has spent thirty years in light. Day-to-day care
- Vacuum gently once a week without a rotating brush bar — use the suction-only setting on hand-knotted or hand-tufted pieces.
- Rotate the rug 180° every 3-6 months so foot traffic and sunlight wear is even.
- Use a quality rug pad underneath for slip resistance and to extend life.
- Blot fresh spills immediately with a clean white cloth — do not rub. Work from the edge of the spill inward.
Deep cleaning
- Professional dry-cleaning is recommended every 12-24 months for hand-knotted carpets.
- Avoid steam cleaners and hot water on natural-fibre rugs (wool, silk, jute) — they can cause shrinkage and dye bleeding.
- For washable flat-weaves and cotton dhurries, machine-wash on a gentle cold cycle in a mesh bag.
Storage
- Roll (do not fold) the carpet around a clean cardboard tube, pile-side in.
- Wrap in breathable cotton sheeting (not plastic) and store in a cool, dry, well-ventilated space.
- Use moth-protection sachets if storing wool for more than a season.

Can I get a sample before buying?
Yes — we send 2-3 small yarn / pile samples for ₹500 (refundable against your purchase). Message us on WhatsApp with the SKU and your shipping pin code to arrange a sample.
What is your returns process?
Returns are accepted within 7 days of delivery in original condition (rolled, not folded; no pet hair, smoke, or stains). Email care@rugsville.in or message us on WhatsApp with your order number — we arrange free reverse pickup in most pin codes. Refunds are processed within 3-5 working days of receipt at our warehouse.
Do you take custom orders?
Yes. Custom-size, custom-colour, and custom-design hand-knotted carpets typically take 4-8 weeks depending on size and complexity. Minimum custom-order size is 4'×6'. Send us your brief on WhatsApp with the room photo and dimensions for a quote.
Is Cash on Delivery (COD) available?
COD is available for most pin codes in zones A and B (metros and tier-2 cities). Some remote pin codes are prepaid only — the pin-code checker above will tell you immediately.
