Floral textile design in the Anatolian and Persian tradition is built on a simple rule. The flower is never literal. It is reduced to a stylised vocabulary of vine, blossom, and palmette that repeats and rotates across the field. The multicolour composition on this carpet is a contemporary reading of that vocabulary, drawn in a studio and then carried into production at a scale and price the original tradition has never been available at.
The fibre
Heat-set polypropylene. The colour is locked in by temperature rather than by surface dye, which is why saturation does not fade under direct sunlight the way pigment printing fades. The fibre resists staining at the molecular level, so spilled juice, wine, oil or coffee lift with a damp cloth before they set. The pile stays flat under furniture and does not shed. Cleaning is a matter of routine vacuuming and the occasional damp wipe.
The composition
The drawing keeps to a multicolour register and works a measured scale across the field. The motif lives in low relief above the ground rather than fighting it for attention. Light catches the pile differently depending on direction, and the field switches between a slightly darker and lighter reading as you walk around the carpet. The composition is finished rather than busy, which is the harder of the two outcomes to achieve on a hand-made loom.

The multicolour field gives a considered ground for low upholstery and for a coffee table that sits squarely inside the rug rather than spanning its edges.
Care
A weekly pass with a household vacuum is enough. Spills lift with a damp cloth before they set. The carpet does not need professional cleaning. If a stain refuses to come up, machine wash cool and dry flat. The fibre returns to its set length within a few hours of being laid out and the pile holds its register without re-tufting.

Day-to-day care
- Vacuum gently once a week without a rotating brush bar — use the suction-only setting on hand-knotted or hand-tufted pieces.
- Rotate the rug 180° every 3-6 months so foot traffic and sunlight wear is even.
- Use a quality rug pad underneath for slip resistance and to extend life.
- Blot fresh spills immediately with a clean white cloth — do not rub. Work from the edge of the spill inward.
Deep cleaning
- Professional dry-cleaning is recommended every 12-24 months for hand-knotted carpets.
- Avoid steam cleaners and hot water on natural-fibre rugs (wool, silk, jute) — they can cause shrinkage and dye bleeding.
- For washable flat-weaves and cotton dhurries, machine-wash on a gentle cold cycle in a mesh bag.
Storage
- Roll (do not fold) the carpet around a clean cardboard tube, pile-side in.
- Wrap in breathable cotton sheeting (not plastic) and store in a cool, dry, well-ventilated space.
- Use moth-protection sachets if storing wool for more than a season.

Can I get a sample before buying?
Yes — we send 2-3 small yarn / pile samples for ₹500 (refundable against your purchase). Message us on WhatsApp with the SKU and your shipping pin code to arrange a sample.
What is your returns process?
Returns are accepted within 7 days of delivery in original condition (rolled, not folded; no pet hair, smoke, or stains). Email care@rugsville.in or message us on WhatsApp with your order number — we arrange free reverse pickup in most pin codes. Refunds are processed within 3-5 working days of receipt at our warehouse.
Do you take custom orders?
Yes. Custom-size, custom-colour, and custom-design hand-knotted carpets typically take 4-8 weeks depending on size and complexity. Minimum custom-order size is 4'×6'. Send us your brief on WhatsApp with the room photo and dimensions for a quote.
Is Cash on Delivery (COD) available?
COD is available for most pin codes in zones A and B (metros and tier-2 cities). Some remote pin codes are prepaid only — the pin-code checker above will tell you immediately.
