Arched Shapes Abstract Multicolour Hand-Tufted Wool Shaggy Carpet

Quick facts: hand-tufted wool · sizes 2'6" x 8' to 9' x 12' · for bedroom, entryway, living room · free shipping across India.

Arched Shapes is a multicolour shaggy carpet in hand-tufted wool, with an abstract pattern that takes its cue from arches. The colours are mixed rather than matched, which makes the carpet easy to live with when your sofa, curtains and cushions are already chosen. The page covers formats from 2'6" x 8' to 9' x 12'.

Material and make

Hand-tufting punches yarn through a backing cloth with a hand-held tool, and the carpet is then backed and sheared, which is what creates the plush, shaggy surface. Wool adds warmth and resilience, and it springs back after furniture has been moved. Some loose fibre early on is normal and clears with regular vacuuming.

In the room

For a hallway or the side of a bed, choose 2'6" x 8'; 4' x 6' and 5' x 8' suit a bedside or a reading corner. The larger 8' x 10' and 9' x 12' are the ones to choose for a main seating area in a living room. A shaggy carpet also makes a good partner for a plain wooden floor in a bedroom.

Care

Shaggy carpets collect dust in the pile, so vacuum regularly with the suction on low and the beater bar off. Shake small sizes out in the open air, blot spills at once, and book a professional wash for anything deeper.
