Abstract Abstra Modern Multicolour Hand-Tufted Wool Carpet

Quick facts: hand-tufted wool · sizes 4' x 6' to 8' x 10' · for bedroom, entryway, living room · free shipping across India.

Abstract Abstra is a modern hand-tufted wool carpet in multicolour, with an abstract pattern that reads as an arrangement of colour rather than a set motif. It comes in several sizes, so the same design can fill a bedroom floor or sit under a living room sofa. A plain sofa and pale walls let the colours do the talking.

Material and make

A hand-held tool drives wool yarn through a base cloth to form the tufts, and the carpet is then backed and sheared level for a plush finish. Wool is resilient and warm and bounces back after furniture has been moved, and a little shedding in the early days is normal. The carpet comes from India.

In the room

Next to a bed or in front of an armchair, 4' x 6' does the job; 5' x 8' suits a compact seating area, and 6' x 9' or 8' x 10' can take a full sofa and coffee table. Where the room is open plan, a larger size helps separate the lounge from the dining area.

Care

Vacuum without a beater bar at first and blot spills as soon as they happen. An occasional professional clean keeps the wool fresh over the years.
