Patchwork Vintage Overdyed Atmosphere Grey Hand-Knotted Wool Carpet

Quick facts: hand-knotted wool · sizes 4' x 6' to 12' x 15' · for living room, bedroom, entryway · free shipping across India.

Atmosphere is the grey colourway of this patchwork vintage overdyed hand-knotted wool carpet. Grey is the safest neutral in a living room, and the patchwork design gives it more interest than a plain field. The sizes on the page begin at 4' x 6' and end at 12' x 15', so the same colour can suit a bedside or a whole open-plan floor.

Material and make

Hand-knotted construction means a knot is tied for each point of the design, and the pile is trimmed even afterwards for a dense, firm surface. Wool is naturally springy and warm, and the first few vacuuming sessions may lift a little loose fibre.

In the room

Choose 4' x 6' or 5' x 8' for a bedside, an entryway or a reading corner, 6' x 9' or 8' x 10' for a standard living room, and 9' x 12' or larger when the carpet has to hold a sofa group and a dining table. Grey lets coloured cushions and art lead.

Care

Use a vacuum head without a spinning brush, and swing the carpet round a little each season. Grey hides everyday dust, but blot spills quickly and call a professional cleaner for deep marks.
