The pattern in this rug came out of a contemporary studio working with the saturation and figuration of vintage Anatolian and Persian sources. The drawing reads as a piece of design rather than as a reproduction. The studio approach is iterative: a working drawing, sample weaves, colour adjustments, and a final production run only after the composition resolves at room scale.
Final weaving was done in Turkey. The jacquard machine carries the drawing across the full width of the rug in a single pass, and the density of the resulting pile gives the surface a hand close enough to wool that most viewers will not name the difference at first sight. The composition is the work; the construction supports it cleanly.
The fibre
Heat-set polypropylene. The colour is locked into the yarn by temperature rather than carried as surface dye, which is why the saturation does not fade under direct sunlight the way printed pigment fades. The fibre resists staining at the molecular level: spilled wine, oil, juice, and coffee lift with a damp cloth before they set. The pile stays flat under furniture and does not shed.
The composition
Grey carries the field, with the drawing layered in deeper and lighter tones. The composition is built to give a room a settled ground without claiming ownership of it. The eye moves rather than landing, and the surface treatment leaves the pattern reading as inherited rather than new-from-the-mill.
The piece in a room
5'3" × 7'4" (160 × 224 cm) is the working scale for a primary bedroom or a medium living area. The grey ground reads against ivory, warm white, or oak-panelled walls, and the geometry holds at viewing distance from a sofa or dining chair. Pairs with walnut, oak, linen upholstery, leather. Direct sunlight on the rug deepens the colour relationships; the piece is built to be lived on, not protected.
Care
Weekly vacuuming is enough. Spills lift with a damp cloth and a drop of mild detergent. For a deeper refresh, the rug tolerates a cold machine wash and dries flat indoors within hours. Heat and direct sunlight do not affect the colour.

Day-to-day care
- Vacuum gently once a week without a rotating brush bar — use the suction-only setting on hand-knotted or hand-tufted pieces.
- Rotate the rug 180° every 3-6 months so foot traffic and sunlight wear is even.
- Use a quality rug pad underneath for slip resistance and to extend life.
- Blot fresh spills immediately with a clean white cloth — do not rub. Work from the edge of the spill inward.
Deep cleaning
- Professional dry-cleaning is recommended every 12-24 months for hand-knotted carpets.
- Avoid steam cleaners and hot water on natural-fibre rugs (wool, silk, jute) — they can cause shrinkage and dye bleeding.
- For washable flat-weaves and cotton dhurries, machine-wash on a gentle cold cycle in a mesh bag.
Storage
- Roll (do not fold) the carpet around a clean cardboard tube, pile-side in.
- Wrap in breathable cotton sheeting (not plastic) and store in a cool, dry, well-ventilated space.
- Use moth-protection sachets if storing wool for more than a season.

Can I get a sample before buying?
Yes — we send 2-3 small yarn / pile samples for ₹500 (refundable against your purchase). Message us on WhatsApp with the SKU and your shipping pin code to arrange a sample.
What is your returns process?
Returns are accepted within 7 days of delivery in original condition (rolled, not folded; no pet hair, smoke, or stains). Email care@rugsville.in or message us on WhatsApp with your order number — we arrange free reverse pickup in most pin codes. Refunds are processed within 3-5 working days of receipt at our warehouse.
Do you take custom orders?
Yes. Custom-size, custom-colour, and custom-design hand-knotted carpets typically take 4-8 weeks depending on size and complexity. Minimum custom-order size is 4'×6'. Send us your brief on WhatsApp with the room photo and dimensions for a quote.
Is Cash on Delivery (COD) available?
COD is available for most pin codes in zones A and B (metros and tier-2 cities). Some remote pin codes are prepaid only — the pin-code checker above will tell you immediately.
