The pattern in this rug grew out of contemporary studios working between the Anatolian and Indian textile traditions and the cleaner geometry of mid-century European design. The composition was developed across months of drawing before being cleared for production. The studio approach is the closest thing the contemporary carpet has to the practice of an editioned print: a single drawing, refined repeatedly, then issued in a controlled run.
Working at room scale, the studio iterates the drawing in graphite and chalk before approving it for the jacquard loom in Turkey. The colour is set yarn by yarn, then the composition is woven at high density so the pattern reads cleanly from a standing viewer. The discipline of the studio process is what separates a piece like this from the wholesale-tier rugs that share its construction class.
The fibre
Heat-set synthetic fibre, dyed at the yarn stage. Colour is fixed into the staple by temperature rather than printed on the surface, which is what holds the saturation through years of sunlight. The yarn is non-absorbent: spills stay on top of the pile and lift with a damp cloth.
The composition
Multicoloured carries the field, with the drawing layered in deeper and lighter tones. The composition is built to give a room a settled ground without claiming ownership of it. The eye moves rather than landing, and the surface treatment leaves the pattern reading as inherited rather than new-from-the-mill.

At 5'3" × 7'7" (160 × 231 cm) the rug anchors a primary bedroom or a medium living area. Soft bone, putty, or lime-washed plaster walls let the multicoloured field settle as a considered ground. Day-to-day care
- Vacuum gently once a week without a rotating brush bar — use the suction-only setting on hand-knotted or hand-tufted pieces.
- Rotate the rug 180° every 3-6 months so foot traffic and sunlight wear is even.
- Use a quality rug pad underneath for slip resistance and to extend life.
- Blot fresh spills immediately with a clean white cloth — do not rub. Work from the edge of the spill inward.
Deep cleaning
- Professional dry-cleaning is recommended every 12-24 months for hand-knotted carpets.
- Avoid steam cleaners and hot water on natural-fibre rugs (wool, silk, jute) — they can cause shrinkage and dye bleeding.
- For washable flat-weaves and cotton dhurries, machine-wash on a gentle cold cycle in a mesh bag.
Storage
- Roll (do not fold) the carpet around a clean cardboard tube, pile-side in.
- Wrap in breathable cotton sheeting (not plastic) and store in a cool, dry, well-ventilated space.
- Use moth-protection sachets if storing wool for more than a season.

Can I get a sample before buying?
Yes — we send 2-3 small yarn / pile samples for ₹500 (refundable against your purchase). Message us on WhatsApp with the SKU and your shipping pin code to arrange a sample.
What is your returns process?
Returns are accepted within 7 days of delivery in original condition (rolled, not folded; no pet hair, smoke, or stains). Email care@rugsville.in or message us on WhatsApp with your order number — we arrange free reverse pickup in most pin codes. Refunds are processed within 3-5 working days of receipt at our warehouse.
Do you take custom orders?
Yes. Custom-size, custom-colour, and custom-design hand-knotted carpets typically take 4-8 weeks depending on size and complexity. Minimum custom-order size is 4'×6'. Send us your brief on WhatsApp with the room photo and dimensions for a quote.
Is Cash on Delivery (COD) available?
COD is available for most pin codes in zones A and B (metros and tier-2 cities). Some remote pin codes are prepaid only — the pin-code checker above will tell you immediately.
