Hand-loomed flatweaves age differently from knotted carpets. They settle into the floor over years, the surface flattening and the colour gaining a soft polish that no finishing process can replicate. The dhurrie flatweave drawing here is built to reward that long settling rather than to look its best on day one.
Construction took 3 to 4 weeks on a hand loom in India. The weaver works the indigo weft across the warp with a shuttle and a comb, building the dhurrie flatweave pattern shed by shed. Flatweave structure means the surface is the design, which is why a flatweave reads as architecture rather than as upholstery laid on top of the floor.

The indigo weft sits as a calm ground, with the dhurrie flatweave pattern picked out at scale. Flatweave is honest about its structure, which is why the rug ages without ever looking tired. The reverse shows the same figure as the face, a feature of the construction rather than a finishing detail added later.

- Vacuum gently once a week without a rotating brush bar — use the suction-only setting on hand-knotted or hand-tufted pieces.
- Rotate the rug 180° every 3-6 months so foot traffic and sunlight wear is even.
- Use a quality rug pad underneath for slip resistance and to extend life.
- Blot fresh spills immediately with a clean white cloth — do not rub. Work from the edge of the spill inward.
Deep cleaning

Yes — we send 2-3 small yarn / pile samples for ₹500 (refundable against your purchase). Message us on WhatsApp with the SKU and your shipping pin code to arrange a sample.
What is your returns process?
Returns are accepted within 7 days of delivery in original condition (rolled, not folded; no pet hair, smoke, or stains). Email care@rugsville.in or message us on WhatsApp with your order number — we arrange free reverse pickup in most pin codes. Refunds are processed within 3-5 working days of receipt at our warehouse.
Do you take custom orders?
Yes. Custom-size, custom-colour, and custom-design hand-knotted carpets typically take 4-8 weeks depending on size and complexity. Minimum custom-order size is 4'×6'. Send us your brief on WhatsApp with the room photo and dimensions for a quote.
Is Cash on Delivery (COD) available?
