The carpet was put up on a vertical loom in northern India. 2 weavers shared the work over roughly 4 months, tying knots by feel against the warp without lifting the cartoon between rows. Around 0.4 million asymmetric knots in total, with wool pile on a cotton foundation. The ivory register is built up across multiple dye lots so the eye reads variation rather than a single flat field, and the pile was clipped and washed by hand once the rug came off the loom.
