Mashad Persian Gold & Black Hand-Knotted Wool Carpet

Quick facts: hand-knotted wool · sizes 3' x 5' to 8' x 10' · for living room, bedroom, entryway · free shipping across India.

This Mashad is a rectangular, Persian-style hand-knotted wool carpet in gold and black. The gold keeps the dark tones from feeling heavy, and the traditional design suits a formal living room as well as a bedroom that needs a rich, settled look. A smaller size and a room-size option are listed here.

Material and make

The pile is made knot by knot: every knot is placed by hand on the loom and the surface is levelled with shears at the end, which gives the carpet density and a long working life. The wool is springy and warm, and a bit of fluff while it settles is to be expected.

In the room

The 3' x 5' suits a doorway, a bedside or a space in front of a chair, and the 8' x 10' is large enough to hold a whole seating group in a living room. Gold and black work best with simple, light walls, so the carpet is the richest thing in the room.

Care

Vacuum gently, turn the carpet around now and then and dab spills without rubbing. Call a specialist when it needs a thorough clean.
