Caspara Kashmir Red Hand-Knotted Silk Round Carpet 6' x 6'

Quick facts: hand-knotted silk · size 6' x 6' · for living room, bedroom, entryway · free shipping across India.

Caspara is a Kashmiri-style hand-knotted silk round carpet in red, measuring 6' x 6'. A round carpet changes the way a room is arranged: it defines a seating spot, a dining area or the centre of an entryway without pointing in any direction. Red gives the traditional oriental pattern a warm, strong colour.

Material and make

Every knot is tied by hand on an upright loom, and the pile is sheared level afterwards. Silk has a natural sheen that shifts with the light, so the red looks different from different angles. Silk suits rooms with lighter traffic, and professional cleaning is the sensible way to keep it looking good.

In the room

At 6' x 6' this round carpet is a good size for the centre of a living room with chairs placed around it, or under a round table in a dining nook. In a large entryway it makes an inviting welcome, though silk is better kept to low-traffic areas than to a door that sees muddy shoes.

Care

Vacuum lightly without a beater bar, and keep the carpet away from damp and direct sun. For spills, blot gently and call a professional cleaner; silk should not be scrubbed.
