Kashmir Medallion Sky Blue & Light Brown Hand-Knotted Silk Carpet 4' x 6'

Quick facts: hand-knotted silk · size 4' x 6' · for living room, bedroom, entryway · free shipping across India.

Sky blue paired with light brown gives this Kashmiri-style hand-knotted silk carpet a soft, airy feel, and the medallion design measures 4' x 6'. It suits a bedroom or a calm sitting area, where the pale blue reads as restful and the brown anchors it. These are easy colours to live with.

Material and make

Each knot is made by hand on an upright loom and the pile is shorn even, which results in a smooth, dense surface. Silk adds a sheen that lifts the pale blue, making it look brighter near a window. It is a delicate fibre, so keep it away from rough use.

In the room

At 4' x 6' it works at the foot of a bed or between armchairs, and it is also a fitting size for a dressing area. Because silk is delicate, treat it as a carpet to enjoy in the quieter rooms of the house. A slim pad underneath keeps it from slipping on tiles.

Care

Keep to a low vacuum setting and blot any spills immediately. For anything beyond dust, rely on a professional carpet cleaner. Rotate the carpet now and then so it takes light and footfall evenly across its surface.
