Ikat Bohemian Red Hand-Knotted Bamboo Silk Carpet

Quick facts: hand-knotted silk · sizes 4' x 6' to 8' x 10' · for living room, bedroom, entryway · free shipping across India.

Red leads in this Ikat hand-knotted bamboo silk carpet, a bohemian design with Southwestern touches. Sizes run from 4' x 6' to 8' x 10', so it can go beside a bed as easily as under a sofa group. The sheen of bamboo silk shifts through the day, so the red looks deeper in the evening.

Material and make

Bamboo silk is the pile fibre, and the knots are tied by hand and then shorn level. Like other silk-type fibres it carries a sheen, and it suits bedrooms and living rooms better than a busy back door.

In the room

The smaller size works beside a bed or in an entryway, the 6' x 9' reaches under a coffee table, and the 8' x 10' holds a whole living room group. Red is a strong colour, so keep walls and upholstery calmer around it and let the carpet lead. In a bedroom, tuck the lower half under the bed so the red frames the sleeping area.

Care

Vacuum softly and avoid dragging heavy furniture across the carpet. When it needs a deeper clean, a professional who handles silk is the safer route, since household shampoos can dull the sheen. Keep it away from open windows during monsoon rain, since silk dislikes damp.
