Ikat Bohemian Ivory Hand-Knotted Bamboo Silk Carpet

Quick facts: hand-knotted silk · sizes 4' x 6' to 8' x 10' · for living room, bedroom, entryway · free shipping across India.

Ikat in ivory is a hand-knotted bamboo silk carpet with a bohemian, southwestern look, in the 4' x 6' size, the 6' x 9' size and the 8' x 10' size. A pale ground and the sheen of bamboo silk make it a bright, reflective carpet that lifts a room, particularly one that does not get much sun.

Material and make

The carpet is knotted by hand on an upright loom, and its pile is sheared even once the knotting is done. Bamboo silk has a lustre that shifts through the day and a fine, smooth feel. It is best in rooms with lighter traffic and away from spills, with professional cleaning when needed.

In the room

Use 4' x 6' beside a bed or in front of a favourite chair, 6' x 9' in a bedroom or a quiet sitting area, and 8' x 10' in a larger room where the furniture can rest on the carpet. Ivory pairs with grey, taupe, navy and sage.

Care

Low suction, no beater bar and prompt blotting of spills are the basics. Since ivory shows marks sooner, act fast, and do not use steam or soak the pile. Felt pads under furniture legs stop narrow feet from pressing marks into the pile.
