Ikat Bohemian Black Hand-Knotted Bamboo Silk Carpet

Quick facts: hand-knotted silk · sizes 4' x 6' to 8' x 10' · for living room, bedroom, entryway · free shipping across India.

Ikat in black is a hand-knotted bamboo silk carpet with a bohemian, southwestern look, in sizes 4' x 6', 6' x 9' and 8' x 10'. Black gives the ikat pattern a dark, inky ground, and the bamboo silk adds a soft sheen that shifts as light moves across the room.

Material and make

Knotted by hand on an upright loom, the carpet has its pile sheared even afterwards, giving a dense surface. Bamboo silk has a lustre that wool does not, and it feels fine to the touch. It is better kept to low-traffic rooms and away from spills, and professional cleaning is the safest route.

In the room

The 4' x 6' size sits by a bed or in front of a chair in a quiet room, while 6' x 9' suits a bedroom or a seating area that is not walked through constantly. The 8' x 10' size is for a larger bedroom or a formal living room, where it can sit under the furniture.

Care

Use a low suction setting without a beater bar, and blot spills promptly rather than rubbing. Avoid steam and soaking, and leave deep cleaning to a professional who handles silk.
