The kilim tradition runs from Anatolia through the Caucasus into Central Asia and down into the Indian subcontinent. What survives across that geography is not a single pattern but a way of building colour by laying coloured weft against coloured weft until the surface composes itself. The vocabulary is geometric, the colours are vegetable-fast, the construction is reversible.
The flatweave was made in India over three weeks on a horizontal pit loom. Hand-spun wool worked weft against weft until the field composes. The rug is reversible by construction; the back is as finished as the front, which is part of why a wool kilim outlives its first generation of owners with relative ease.
The composition
The palette is grey, laid in geometric blocks because the loom rewards geometry and punishes curves. The flatweave construction lets the pattern read on both faces of the rug; the reverse is as finished as the front. The texture is dry to the touch in the way only a hand-woven carpet is, and the surface lays cleanly against a hard floor without needing a heavy underlay.

- Vacuum gently once a week without a rotating brush bar — use the suction-only setting on hand-knotted or hand-tufted pieces.
- Rotate the rug 180° every 3-6 months so foot traffic and sunlight wear is even.

What is your returns process?
Returns are accepted within 7 days of delivery in original condition (rolled, not folded; no pet hair, smoke, or stains). Is Cash on Delivery (COD) available?
