A single weaver took three weeks at the loom. The pattern is built from coloured weft yarn picked over the warp by hand, every line an explicit choice. The result is a slim, flat carpet that lays close to the floor and works over hard surfaces without bunching. The selvedges are finished by hand at the end, a slow operation that protects the long edges from wear in use.

The composition
