Alexandria Brown Hand-Tufted Wool Carpet

Quick facts: hand-tufted wool · sizes 5' x 8' to 8' x 10' · for living room, bedroom, entryway · free shipping across India.

Alexandria is a brown hand-tufted wool carpet, and its size menu lets you pick the one that fits your room. Brown is a versatile colour, and it sits easily beside sofas, beds and wooden floors in almost any shade. It makes a calm, plain base for a living room or a bedroom.

Material and make

Hand-tufted carpets are made by punching yarn through a backing cloth with a hand-held tufting tool, then backing and shearing the surface, which gives a plush finish. The wool is warm underfoot and springs back well, though some loose fibre early on is normal and settles with regular vacuuming.

In the room

Choose 5' x 8' for a bedroom, where it can extend from the foot and one side of the bed, or for a snug sitting area. The 8' x 10' is better in a larger living room, where it can sit under the coffee table with the sofa and chairs resting on it. Plain brown allows you to add colour through cushions and curtains.

Care

Vacuum gently on a low setting, rotate the carpet from time to time, and blot spills promptly instead of rubbing them. For deeper cleaning, ask a professional rather than wet-shampooing at home.
