The composition belongs to a contemporary Turkish design vocabulary that takes its cues from European studio textile and traditional Anatolian carpet in equal measure. The result is a field built to read as a single image at room scale.
The palette runs through a beige register, set against negative space that lets each value breathe. The colour relationships were tuned in the studio before the production cartoon was cut and locked for the loom.
The composition
A beige register is what the composition is for. The pattern is the device that delivers the colour at room scale; the design is in service of the palette rather than the other way around. The wool was hand-spun and the dyes prepared in small batches, so the field carries the quiet unevenness that the human hand leaves on every step of the process. The piece reads as patina from the day it is unrolled, rather than acquiring patina across years of wear.
The fibre
Polypropylene, heat-set. The colour is locked into the structure of the fibre at production temperature, not applied as a surface dye. Sun, vacuum, foot traffic and ordinary cleaning have no measurable effect on the saturation. Pigmented spills release with a damp cloth before they can set into the yarn. There is no shedding and no pile crush under standard use.
The piece in a room
5'3" x 7'5" fits the central living arrangement of a small or medium flat. The rug is sized so the seating sits inside it on the front legs and the conversation circle is held inside its margins. The geometry is read whole from the threshold of the room and the colour resolves into its full saturation under afternoon light.
Care
Vacuum routinely. The fibre does not stain, the colour does not fade against direct sun, and the structure tolerates anything a domestic vacuum can do. Spills lift with a damp cloth and a drop of mild detergent. A cold machine wash handles deeper cleaning if needed; the rug dries flat in a couple of hours and is ready to use the same day.

Day-to-day care
- Vacuum gently once a week without a rotating brush bar — use the suction-only setting on hand-knotted or hand-tufted pieces.
- Rotate the rug 180° every 3-6 months so foot traffic and sunlight wear is even.
- Use a quality rug pad underneath for slip resistance and to extend life.
- Blot fresh spills immediately with a clean white cloth — do not rub. Work from the edge of the spill inward.
Deep cleaning
- Professional dry-cleaning is recommended every 12-24 months for hand-knotted carpets.
- Avoid steam cleaners and hot water on natural-fibre rugs (wool, silk, jute) — they can cause shrinkage and dye bleeding.
- For washable flat-weaves and cotton dhurries, machine-wash on a gentle cold cycle in a mesh bag.
Storage
- Roll (do not fold) the carpet around a clean cardboard tube, pile-side in.
- Wrap in breathable cotton sheeting (not plastic) and store in a cool, dry, well-ventilated space.
- Use moth-protection sachets if storing wool for more than a season.

Each carpet is hand-crafted with natural-dye yarns, so a small variation in shade, pattern density, and tone is expected and is part of the authenticity of a handmade piece. Colours on screen also vary by monitor and lighting. If you are matching a specific decor, request a yarn sample before ordering.
Can I get a sample before buying?
Yes — we send 2-3 small yarn / pile samples for ₹500 (refundable against your purchase). Message us on WhatsApp with the SKU and your shipping pin code to arrange a sample.
What is your returns process?
Returns are accepted within 7 days of delivery in original condition (rolled, not folded; no pet hair, smoke, or stains). Email care@rugsville.in or message us on WhatsApp with your order number — we arrange free reverse pickup in most pin codes. Refunds are processed within 3-5 working days of receipt at our warehouse.
Do you take custom orders?
Yes. Custom-size, custom-colour, and custom-design hand-knotted carpets typically take 4-8 weeks depending on size and complexity. Minimum custom-order size is 4'×6'. Send us your brief on WhatsApp with the room photo and dimensions for a quote.
Is Cash on Delivery (COD) available?
COD is available for most pin codes in zones A and B (metros and tier-2 cities). Some remote pin codes are prepaid only — the pin-code checker above will tell you immediately.
