The pattern reads as a contemporary abstraction at distance and resolves into a structured weave on close approach. The studio worked through several palette tests before committing to the version in front of you, and the production sample was checked against daylight, lamp light, and warm LED.
The drawing for this rug was developed across several rounds of small-format samples before the production palette and scale were locked. The result reads as a graphic field built from blue and the values that surround it, designed to hold its own at room scale rather than receding into the background.
The fibre
Heat-set polypropylene. The colour is locked into the yarn by temperature rather than by surface dye, which is why the saturation does not fade under direct sunlight. Spilled wine, juice, oil, or coffee lifts with a damp cloth before it sets. The pile stays flat under furniture and the rug does not shed.
The composition
A composition built around a saturated blue with a faint green shift at certain angles. The pattern develops at a measured pace and the colour holds its register across the field. The negative space inside the pattern carries as much weight as the figure, which is the discipline a confident composition relies on.
The piece in a room
At 5' × 7'8" (152 × 234 cm) the rug suits a compact living area, a primary bedroom with a queen frame, or a dining nook seating four. The blue ground holds the floor without claiming ownership of the room, and the geometry resolves cleanly when sofa legs and side tables sit on top of it. Front legs of upholstery on the rug, rear legs off, is the arrangement that lets the field read at full strength. Settles into rooms that already trust their architecture and uses the field to soften rather than to declare.
Care
Weekly vacuuming. Spills wipe clean with a damp cloth thanks to the heat-set fibre. For deeper care, the rug accepts a cold machine wash and dries flat in a few hours. No professional cleaning required.

Day-to-day care
- Vacuum gently once a week without a rotating brush bar — use the suction-only setting on hand-knotted or hand-tufted pieces.
- Rotate the rug 180° every 3-6 months so foot traffic and sunlight wear is even.
- Use a quality rug pad underneath for slip resistance and to extend life.
- Blot fresh spills immediately with a clean white cloth — do not rub. Work from the edge of the spill inward.
Deep cleaning
- Professional dry-cleaning is recommended every 12-24 months for hand-knotted carpets.
- Avoid steam cleaners and hot water on natural-fibre rugs (wool, silk, jute) — they can cause shrinkage and dye bleeding.
- For washable flat-weaves and cotton dhurries, machine-wash on a gentle cold cycle in a mesh bag.
Storage
- Roll (do not fold) the carpet around a clean cardboard tube, pile-side in.
- Wrap in breathable cotton sheeting (not plastic) and store in a cool, dry, well-ventilated space.
- Use moth-protection sachets if storing wool for more than a season.

Each carpet is hand-crafted with natural-dye yarns, so a small variation in shade, pattern density, and tone is expected and is part of the authenticity of a handmade piece. Colours on screen also vary by monitor and lighting. If you are matching a specific decor, request a yarn sample before ordering.
Can I get a sample before buying?
Yes — we send 2-3 small yarn / pile samples for ₹500 (refundable against your purchase). Message us on WhatsApp with the SKU and your shipping pin code to arrange a sample.
What is your returns process?
Returns are accepted within 7 days of delivery in original condition (rolled, not folded; no pet hair, smoke, or stains). Email care@rugsville.in or message us on WhatsApp with your order number — we arrange free reverse pickup in most pin codes. Refunds are processed within 3-5 working days of receipt at our warehouse.
Do you take custom orders?
Yes. Custom-size, custom-colour, and custom-design hand-knotted carpets typically take 4-8 weeks depending on size and complexity. Minimum custom-order size is 4'×6'. Send us your brief on WhatsApp with the room photo and dimensions for a quote.
Is Cash on Delivery (COD) available?
COD is available for most pin codes in zones A and B (metros and tier-2 cities). Some remote pin codes are prepaid only — the pin-code checker above will tell you immediately.
