The composition was developed in studio across several rounds of colour work before being approved for the loom. It sits in the conversation between traditional carpet drawing and the cleaner palettes a contemporary interior asks for, and reads as a considered piece of design rather than as either reproduction or pastiche. The drawing was the work; the construction is the support that delivers it to a floor at honest cost.
Production took place in Turkey on a jacquard loom set up to translate the working drawing into machine instructions. The pile is woven at high density so the field carries weight underfoot, and the surface is finished with a light shear pass before the rug is rolled and packed. The construction tier is built for daily living rather than for occasional display.
The fibre
Heat-set synthetic fibre, dyed at the yarn stage. Colour is fixed into the staple by temperature rather than printed on the surface, which is what holds the saturation through years of sunlight. The yarn is non-absorbent: spills stay on top of the pile and lift with a damp cloth.
The composition
A ivory palette set across a softly drawn ground. The pattern carries the worn-in feel of an antique reference without the price or the conservation requirements that come with one. The colour holds its saturation under sunlight, and the field reads as a settled graphic rather than a fresh production.
The piece in a room
A 5'3" × 7'4" (160 × 224 cm) format works as a primary bedroom or a medium living area. The ivory field gives the room an axis. Walnut, oak, linen upholstery, leather sit comfortably on it; the geometry pairs poorly with strongly patterned upholstery, where the rug expects to be the only graphic element holding the floor.
Care
Vacuum on a normal household setting. Spot-clean with detergent and a damp cloth as needed. The fibre tolerates a domestic machine wash on cold; lay flat to dry. No specialist intervention required across the life of the rug.

Day-to-day care
- Vacuum gently once a week without a rotating brush bar — use the suction-only setting on hand-knotted or hand-tufted pieces.
- Rotate the rug 180° every 3-6 months so foot traffic and sunlight wear is even.
- Use a quality rug pad underneath for slip resistance and to extend life.
- Blot fresh spills immediately with a clean white cloth — do not rub. Work from the edge of the spill inward.
Deep cleaning
- Professional dry-cleaning is recommended every 12-24 months for hand-knotted carpets.
- Avoid steam cleaners and hot water on natural-fibre rugs (wool, silk, jute) — they can cause shrinkage and dye bleeding.
- For washable flat-weaves and cotton dhurries, machine-wash on a gentle cold cycle in a mesh bag.
Storage
- Roll (do not fold) the carpet around a clean cardboard tube, pile-side in.
- Wrap in breathable cotton sheeting (not plastic) and store in a cool, dry, well-ventilated space.
- Use moth-protection sachets if storing wool for more than a season.

Can I get a sample before buying?
Yes — we send 2-3 small yarn / pile samples for ₹500 (refundable against your purchase). Message us on WhatsApp with the SKU and your shipping pin code to arrange a sample.
What is your returns process?
Returns are accepted within 7 days of delivery in original condition (rolled, not folded; no pet hair, smoke, or stains). Email care@rugsville.in or message us on WhatsApp with your order number — we arrange free reverse pickup in most pin codes. Refunds are processed within 3-5 working days of receipt at our warehouse.
Do you take custom orders?
Yes. Custom-size, custom-colour, and custom-design hand-knotted carpets typically take 4-8 weeks depending on size and complexity. Minimum custom-order size is 4'×6'. Send us your brief on WhatsApp with the room photo and dimensions for a quote.
Is Cash on Delivery (COD) available?
COD is available for most pin codes in zones A and B (metros and tier-2 cities). Some remote pin codes are prepaid only — the pin-code checker above will tell you immediately.
