The neoteric vocabulary belongs to the contemporary Indian tufting studios that have absorbed mid-century Scandinavian geometry, Bauhaus colour theory, and the discipline of Japanese textile design. The result is a rug that looks current without trying to chase a trend.
The rug was hand-tufted in India over 4 weeks. Wool was pushed through a stretched cotton canvas one row at a time with a hand-held tufting gun, then sealed at the back with natural latex and a cotton scrim. The finishing pass was done by hand with long shears, levelling the pile so the drawing reads cleanly across the field. The relief between motif and ground was cut to a couple of millimetres, which is what makes the pattern legible at standing distance.
The composition
The palette is warm beige and bone ivory. The drawing is contemporary, balanced rather than symmetrical, with each shape sized to leave the field room to read as a single composition. The cut pile holds the colour and softens the edges of every shape so the rug feels considered rather than printed. With wear the pile compacts evenly and the colour pulls together, which is the patina the design is built to acquire.
The piece in a room
4' x 6' (122 x 183 cm) works under a coffee table with seating arranged around it, in a primary bedroom as a foot-of-the-bed runner, or as the anchor in a small reading area. The beige ivory palette pairs with rattan, leather, linen upholstery, and wood flooring across the warm spectrum. The proportions also fit a child's bedroom or a smaller dressing area without crowding the floor plan. The rug expects to be looked at, not just walked on.
Care
Suction-only vacuuming, weekly. For spills, blot with a clean dry cloth, then mild detergent on a damp cloth if the stain resists. Professional dry clean every two years. The pile will shed for the first month or so as the cut fibres settle into the latex backing; this is normal and stops.

Day-to-day care
- Vacuum gently once a week without a rotating brush bar — use the suction-only setting on hand-knotted or hand-tufted pieces.
- Rotate the rug 180° every 3-6 months so foot traffic and sunlight wear is even.
- Use a quality rug pad underneath for slip resistance and to extend life.
- Blot fresh spills immediately with a clean white cloth — do not rub. Work from the edge of the spill inward.
Deep cleaning
- Professional dry-cleaning is recommended every 12-24 months for hand-knotted carpets.
- Avoid steam cleaners and hot water on natural-fibre rugs (wool, silk, jute) — they can cause shrinkage and dye bleeding.
- For washable flat-weaves and cotton dhurries, machine-wash on a gentle cold cycle in a mesh bag.
Storage
- Roll (do not fold) the carpet around a clean cardboard tube, pile-side in.
- Wrap in breathable cotton sheeting (not plastic) and store in a cool, dry, well-ventilated space.
- Use moth-protection sachets if storing wool for more than a season.

Can I get a sample before buying?
Yes — we send 2-3 small yarn / pile samples for ₹500 (refundable against your purchase). Message us on WhatsApp with the SKU and your shipping pin code to arrange a sample.
What is your returns process?
Returns are accepted within 7 days of delivery in original condition (rolled, not folded; no pet hair, smoke, or stains). Email care@rugsville.in or message us on WhatsApp with your order number — we arrange free reverse pickup in most pin codes. Refunds are processed within 3-5 working days of receipt at our warehouse.
Do you take custom orders?
Yes. Custom-size, custom-colour, and custom-design hand-knotted carpets typically take 4-8 weeks depending on size and complexity. Minimum custom-order size is 4'×6'. Send us your brief on WhatsApp with the room photo and dimensions for a quote.
Is Cash on Delivery (COD) available?
COD is available for most pin codes in zones A and B (metros and tier-2 cities). Some remote pin codes are prepaid only — the pin-code checker above will tell you immediately.
