The Moroccan tribal vocabulary moves between the strict diamond grid of Beni Ourain and the freer multi-coloured drawing of Boucherouite and Boujad work, where weavers laid down dyed motifs across a white ground in patterns closer to embroidery than to traditional carpet drawing. One weaver worked this Quinto piece in size as listed across roughly two and a half months in India. Wool was hand-spun thick in the Atlas register, knotted in the Berber-style symmetric knot on a cotton foundation, and washed once after the loom came down to open the hand. Coloured motifs were knotted into the white ground using small lots of dyed wool in red, indigo, ochre, and soft black.
