The composition in this carpet grew out of contemporary studio work that runs through Scandinavian modernism, mid-century textile design, and the open colour fields of post-war painting. A multicolour ground broken by graphic incident, the densities tightening and opening across the field so the eye moves rather than landing on a single focal point. The studio worked the cartoon in graphite and ink for several months before approving the design for production. The pattern asks for a quiet room around it and rewards being the only graphic surface in the composition.
The fibre
Heat-set polypropylene. The colour is locked in by temperature rather than by surface dye, which is why saturation does not fade under direct sunlight the way pigment printing fades. The fibre resists staining at the molecular level, so spilled juice, wine, oil or coffee lift with a damp cloth before they set. The pile stays flat under furniture and does not shed. Cleaning is a matter of routine vacuuming and the occasional damp wipe.
The composition
A multicolour field carried with enough tonal variation that no two square feet of the rug read the same way. The geometry is set up so the eye moves across the surface rather than locking onto a single centre. Heat-set polypropylene takes dye unevenly by design, and the resulting irregularities are the point of weaving the rug by hand instead of printing it. The composition rewards both the across-the-room glance and the close-range second look.

Care
Vacuum as needed. Spot clean with mild dish soap on a clean cloth. The fibre does not stain at the molecular level, so most spills lift with a damp wipe. For a deeper clean the rug folds and machine washes on a cold cycle. Routine maintenance is the only attention the surface asks for.

Day-to-day care
- Vacuum gently once a week without a rotating brush bar — use the suction-only setting on hand-knotted or hand-tufted pieces.
- Rotate the rug 180° every 3-6 months so foot traffic and sunlight wear is even.
- Use a quality rug pad underneath for slip resistance and to extend life.
- Blot fresh spills immediately with a clean white cloth — do not rub. Work from the edge of the spill inward.
Deep cleaning
- Professional dry-cleaning is recommended every 12-24 months for hand-knotted carpets.
- Avoid steam cleaners and hot water on natural-fibre rugs (wool, silk, jute) — they can cause shrinkage and dye bleeding.
- For washable flat-weaves and cotton dhurries, machine-wash on a gentle cold cycle in a mesh bag.
Storage
- Roll (do not fold) the carpet around a clean cardboard tube, pile-side in.
- Wrap in breathable cotton sheeting (not plastic) and store in a cool, dry, well-ventilated space.
- Use moth-protection sachets if storing wool for more than a season.

Can I get a sample before buying?
Yes — we send 2-3 small yarn / pile samples for ₹500 (refundable against your purchase). Message us on WhatsApp with the SKU and your shipping pin code to arrange a sample.
What is your returns process?
Returns are accepted within 7 days of delivery in original condition (rolled, not folded; no pet hair, smoke, or stains). Email care@rugsville.in or message us on WhatsApp with your order number — we arrange free reverse pickup in most pin codes. Refunds are processed within 3-5 working days of receipt at our warehouse.
Do you take custom orders?
Yes. Custom-size, custom-colour, and custom-design hand-knotted carpets typically take 4-8 weeks depending on size and complexity. Minimum custom-order size is 4'×6'. Send us your brief on WhatsApp with the room photo and dimensions for a quote.
Is Cash on Delivery (COD) available?
COD is available for most pin codes in zones A and B (metros and tier-2 cities). Some remote pin codes are prepaid only — the pin-code checker above will tell you immediately.
