The pattern in this rug came out of a contemporary studio working with the saturation and figuration of vintage Anatolian and Persian sources. The drawing reads as a piece of design rather than as a reproduction. The studio approach is iterative: a working drawing, sample weaves, colour adjustments, and a final production run only after the composition resolves at room scale.
Production took place in Turkey on a jacquard loom set up to translate the working drawing into machine instructions. The pile is woven at high density so the field carries weight underfoot, and the surface is finished with a light shear pass before the rug is rolled and packed. The construction tier is built for daily living rather than for occasional display.
The fibre
Polypropylene yarn, heat-set so the colour is bonded into the fibre. The surface reads as wool from a metre away, with the practical advantage that it shrugs off spills and ages without fading. The pile holds its height under furniture and never sheds.
The composition
A multicoloured palette set across a softly drawn ground. The pattern carries the worn-in feel of an antique reference without the price or the conservation requirements that come with one. The colour holds its saturation under sunlight, and the field reads as a settled graphic rather than a fresh production.
The piece in a room
5'3" × 7'4" (160 × 224 cm) is the working scale for a primary bedroom or a medium living area. The multicoloured ground reads against soft bone, putty, or lime-washed plaster walls, and the geometry holds at viewing distance from a sofa or dining chair. Pairs with walnut, oak, linen upholstery, leather. Direct sunlight on the rug deepens the colour relationships; the piece is built to be lived on, not protected.
Care
Vacuum weekly. Spot-clean with a mild detergent on a clean cloth. The rug can be machine-washed cold at thirty degrees if a spill resists spot cleaning; the size folds to fit a domestic drum. Dries flat in a couple of hours. No professional cleaning required.

Day-to-day care
- Vacuum gently once a week without a rotating brush bar — use the suction-only setting on hand-knotted or hand-tufted pieces.
- Rotate the rug 180° every 3-6 months so foot traffic and sunlight wear is even.
- Use a quality rug pad underneath for slip resistance and to extend life.
- Blot fresh spills immediately with a clean white cloth — do not rub. Work from the edge of the spill inward.
Deep cleaning
- Professional dry-cleaning is recommended every 12-24 months for hand-knotted carpets.
- Avoid steam cleaners and hot water on natural-fibre rugs (wool, silk, jute) — they can cause shrinkage and dye bleeding.
- For washable flat-weaves and cotton dhurries, machine-wash on a gentle cold cycle in a mesh bag.
Storage
- Roll (do not fold) the carpet around a clean cardboard tube, pile-side in.
- Wrap in breathable cotton sheeting (not plastic) and store in a cool, dry, well-ventilated space.
- Use moth-protection sachets if storing wool for more than a season.

Can I get a sample before buying?
Yes — we send 2-3 small yarn / pile samples for ₹500 (refundable against your purchase). Message us on WhatsApp with the SKU and your shipping pin code to arrange a sample.
What is your returns process?
Returns are accepted within 7 days of delivery in original condition (rolled, not folded; no pet hair, smoke, or stains). Email care@rugsville.in or message us on WhatsApp with your order number — we arrange free reverse pickup in most pin codes. Refunds are processed within 3-5 working days of receipt at our warehouse.
Do you take custom orders?
Yes. Custom-size, custom-colour, and custom-design hand-knotted carpets typically take 4-8 weeks depending on size and complexity. Minimum custom-order size is 4'×6'. Send us your brief on WhatsApp with the room photo and dimensions for a quote.
Is Cash on Delivery (COD) available?
COD is available for most pin codes in zones A and B (metros and tier-2 cities). Some remote pin codes are prepaid only — the pin-code checker above will tell you immediately.
