The composition belongs to a contemporary Turkish design vocabulary that takes its cues from European studio textile and traditional Anatolian carpet in equal measure. The result is a field built to read as a single image at room scale.
The palette runs through a gray register, set against negative space that lets each value breathe. The colour relationships were tuned in the studio before the production cartoon was cut and locked for the loom.
The composition
Built around a gray register. The composition is the result of a slow studio process; the cartoon was charted at scale, the dye batches were proofed against each other, and the colour relationships were settled before any wool reached the warp. The result is a single still image at room scale rather than a tiled repeat that fills a floor. The slight tonal drift across the field is the trace of small-batch dyeing in copper vats; from any standing distance it gathers into a single colour.
The fibre
Heat-set polypropylene. The colour is locked into the yarn by temperature rather than printed on the surface, which is why saturation does not fade under direct sunlight the way pigment-printed fibre fades. The fibre resists staining at the molecular level: spilled wine, juice, oil or coffee lift with a damp cloth before they bond. The pile stays flat under furniture and does not shed.
The piece in a room
5'3" x 7'6" fits the central living arrangement of a one- or two-bedroom flat. The rug is the floor of the conversation area, and the rest of the room takes its cue from its palette rather than the other way round. Pale walls let the field push forward; mid-tone walls let the rug settle into the architecture as a quieter ground.
Care
Vacuum weekly on any setting. Spot clean with mild detergent on a clean cotton cloth. The fibre is engineered to release stains; spilled wine, coffee or oil lifts with a damp cloth before they bond to the yarn. Machine wash on a cold thirty-degree cycle if a spill resists spot cleaning; the size folds into a domestic drum and dries flat in two hours. The pile recovers without the need for steaming.

Day-to-day care
- Vacuum gently once a week without a rotating brush bar — use the suction-only setting on hand-knotted or hand-tufted pieces.
- Rotate the rug 180° every 3-6 months so foot traffic and sunlight wear is even.
- Use a quality rug pad underneath for slip resistance and to extend life.
- Blot fresh spills immediately with a clean white cloth — do not rub. Work from the edge of the spill inward.
Deep cleaning
- Professional dry-cleaning is recommended every 12-24 months for hand-knotted carpets.
- Avoid steam cleaners and hot water on natural-fibre rugs (wool, silk, jute) — they can cause shrinkage and dye bleeding.
- For washable flat-weaves and cotton dhurries, machine-wash on a gentle cold cycle in a mesh bag.
Storage
- Roll (do not fold) the carpet around a clean cardboard tube, pile-side in.
- Wrap in breathable cotton sheeting (not plastic) and store in a cool, dry, well-ventilated space.
- Use moth-protection sachets if storing wool for more than a season.

Can I get a sample before buying?
Yes — we send 2-3 small yarn / pile samples for ₹500 (refundable against your purchase). Message us on WhatsApp with the SKU and your shipping pin code to arrange a sample.
What is your returns process?
Returns are accepted within 7 days of delivery in original condition (rolled, not folded; no pet hair, smoke, or stains). Email care@rugsville.in or message us on WhatsApp with your order number — we arrange free reverse pickup in most pin codes. Refunds are processed within 3-5 working days of receipt at our warehouse.
Do you take custom orders?
Yes. Custom-size, custom-colour, and custom-design hand-knotted carpets typically take 4-8 weeks depending on size and complexity. Minimum custom-order size is 4'×6'. Send us your brief on WhatsApp with the room photo and dimensions for a quote.
Is Cash on Delivery (COD) available?
COD is available for most pin codes in zones A and B (metros and tier-2 cities). Some remote pin codes are prepaid only — the pin-code checker above will tell you immediately.
