The motif here arrived through a long working partnership between a Turkish design studio and the production loom. The drawing started in graphite on paper, moved through several proofs in cloth, and was settled only when the colour and geometry could carry the room from any standing position.

The palette is anchored in a gray register, set against open ground so each value reads on its own terms. The composition is meant as a single visual gesture at room scale and rewards a long look from across the room as much as a close inspection.

The wool was washed after weaving to settle the dye and bring the surface to its final feel; the slight matte sheen comes up under both window light and lamp. The piece is built to be discovered slowly. Across distance it is one quiet ground; at close range the small variations of dye and weave become visible as the trace of the hand.

The fibre

The fibre is heat-set polypropylene. Pigment is fixed into the yarn at temperature, which means the colour holds against direct sun without fading and does not lift under cleaning. Stains release at the surface because the fibre does not absorb pigmented liquid; spills are blotted away with a damp cloth before they set. The pile recovers from furniture compression without needing steam or grooming.

The piece in a room

5'3" x 7'6" fits the central living arrangement of a small or medium flat. The rug is sized so the seating sits inside it on the front legs and the conversation circle is held inside its margins. The geometry is read whole from the threshold of the room and the colour resolves into its full saturation under afternoon light.

Care

Care is essentially minimal. A weekly run of the vacuum is enough for surface dust; the construction tolerates a beater bar without damage. Spills release with a damp cloth and a drop of mild detergent. For more difficult marks, a cold machine wash works; the rug folds into a domestic drum and dries flat in a couple of hours.
