This composition came out of a Turkish design studio working between traditional Anatolian carpet vocabulary and contemporary European graphic design. The result is a single arrested image rather than a tiled repeat, sized to the working dimensions of a modern living room.
The palette is built around a multi-toned palette. The studio iterated the colour relationships through several proofs before locking the production cartoon. At distance the field reads as one quiet ground; on approach the shift in density becomes visible.
The composition
The composition is anchored in a multi-toned palette. The pattern is allowed enough silence around it that the rug reads as ground rather than as figure, which is the harder achievement in carpet design. The tonal range is narrow by design and the colour relationships will tighten as the wool settles in over the first months of use. The piece is meant to recede into the architecture of the room and let the furniture, the art, and the light do the speaking. Up close the small variations across the field are visible as the trace of a hand-dyed wool batched in small lots.
The fibre
Heat-set polypropylene. The colour is locked into the yarn by temperature rather than printed on the surface, which is why saturation does not fade under direct sunlight the way pigment-printed fibre fades. The fibre resists staining at the molecular level: spilled wine, juice, oil or coffee lift with a damp cloth before they bond. The pile stays flat under furniture and does not shed.
The piece in a room
5'3" x 7'4" sits naturally under a six-seater dining arrangement, or beneath a medium sectional in a living area. The rug is sized to be visible from above when the family is seated and from the side when guests walk in. The geometry resolves at standing distance and the colour deepens under the wash of overhead light.
Care
The rug needs nothing more than weekly vacuuming and prompt attention to spills. The yarn does not absorb pigmented liquid at the surface, so wine, coffee and juice release before they bond. Machine wash cold if needed; the piece dries flat without distortion. No professional cleaning is necessary across its working life.

Day-to-day care
- Vacuum gently once a week without a rotating brush bar — use the suction-only setting on hand-knotted or hand-tufted pieces.
- Rotate the rug 180° every 3-6 months so foot traffic and sunlight wear is even.
- Use a quality rug pad underneath for slip resistance and to extend life.
- Blot fresh spills immediately with a clean white cloth — do not rub. Work from the edge of the spill inward.
Deep cleaning
- Professional dry-cleaning is recommended every 12-24 months for hand-knotted carpets.
- Avoid steam cleaners and hot water on natural-fibre rugs (wool, silk, jute) — they can cause shrinkage and dye bleeding.
- For washable flat-weaves and cotton dhurries, machine-wash on a gentle cold cycle in a mesh bag.
Storage
- Roll (do not fold) the carpet around a clean cardboard tube, pile-side in.
- Wrap in breathable cotton sheeting (not plastic) and store in a cool, dry, well-ventilated space.
- Use moth-protection sachets if storing wool for more than a season.

Can I get a sample before buying?
Yes — we send 2-3 small yarn / pile samples for ₹500 (refundable against your purchase). Message us on WhatsApp with the SKU and your shipping pin code to arrange a sample.
What is your returns process?
Returns are accepted within 7 days of delivery in original condition (rolled, not folded; no pet hair, smoke, or stains). Email care@rugsville.in or message us on WhatsApp with your order number — we arrange free reverse pickup in most pin codes. Refunds are processed within 3-5 working days of receipt at our warehouse.
Do you take custom orders?
Yes. Custom-size, custom-colour, and custom-design hand-knotted carpets typically take 4-8 weeks depending on size and complexity. Minimum custom-order size is 4'×6'. Send us your brief on WhatsApp with the room photo and dimensions for a quote.
Is Cash on Delivery (COD) available?
COD is available for most pin codes in zones A and B (metros and tier-2 cities). Some remote pin codes are prepaid only — the pin-code checker above will tell you immediately.
