A single weaver carried the work through around four months. Hand-spun wool on a cotton foundation, knotted at the speed a careful hand can sustain, roughly ten thousand knots a day per weaver. The finish was sheared close enough to read the drawing without losing the body of the pile, then washed twice and stretched to dry.
The composition
The field reads first: a calm ivory ground, with a floral repeat drawn in restrained colour. Closer in, the small variations in dye lot that only hand-spun wool can give. The drawing was carried at full scale on a cartoon hung behind the loom; the weaver worked from it row by row, by sight.

Antique pieces in this lineage with a similar drawing and condition trade through Western dealers and the secondary auction market at multiples of this price. You are buying the same craft, freshly woven, in wool. A hand-knotted rug like this one gains character every decade rather than losing it.

Day-to-day care
- Vacuum gently once a week without a rotating brush bar — use the suction-only setting on hand-knotted or hand-tufted pieces.
- Rotate the rug 180° every 3-6 months so foot traffic and sunlight wear is even.
- Use a quality rug pad underneath for slip resistance and to extend life.
- Blot fresh spills immediately with a clean white cloth — do not rub. Work from the edge of the spill inward.
Deep cleaning

Yes — we send 2-3 small yarn / pile samples for ₹500 (refundable against your purchase). Message us on WhatsApp with the SKU and your shipping pin code to arrange a sample.
What is your returns process?
Returns are accepted within 7 days of delivery in original condition (rolled, not folded; no pet hair, smoke, or stains). Email care@rugsville.in or message us on WhatsApp with your order number — we arrange free reverse pickup in most pin codes. Refunds are processed within 3-5 working days of receipt at our warehouse.
Do you take custom orders?
Yes. Custom-size, custom-colour, and custom-design hand-knotted carpets typically take 4-8 weeks depending on size and complexity. Minimum custom-order size is 4'×6'. Send us your brief on WhatsApp with the room photo and dimensions for a quote.
Is Cash on Delivery (COD) available?
