Forty-eight antique Turkish and Persian village fragments form the substrate, deliberately selected for chromatic variety rather than for tonal consistency. The donors carry rust, ochre, indigo, deep green, ivory, soft teal, warm pink, and dusty navy across the assembled field. Each panel was cut to regular geometry and joined along the back with hand-stitched seams over five weeks. The light unifying wash was applied at low concentration in a controlled ambient bath. Ten days of flat sun-drying brought the chromatic register down. The complete process took six months.

The composition

Multiple colour registers hold their own across the patchwork grid: rust at one corner, ochre across the centre, indigo at the perimeter, deep green within the field, ivory and warm pink scattered through, dusty navy anchoring the lower edge. The unifying wash holds everything together at a slightly muted overall saturation. There is no border. No central focus. The composition reads as a chromatic mosaic, the way a high-quality stained-glass window reads as a single composition with multiple colour stories.
