Complete your setup
Festival fuschia is a high-saturation pink that belongs to the language of celebratory textile, the lac-dyed silks of court festivals and the bright wools of ceremonial weaving. Bringing that quality onto a reclaimed wool patchwork demands an immersion bath calibrated to hold saturation without losing transparency, and the Festival Fuschia patchwork in front of you was finished to that brief.
Source panels were originally hand-knotted by village weavers in production across the last several decades. Cutting, washing, shearing, and hand-stitching the panels into a single six-by-nine field took six to eight weeks of finishing work in India. The fuschia immersion bath unified the panels under a single saturated pink value while leaving the original geometries visible as a quieter under-layer.
The composition
A high-saturation fuschia field reads first, with the original village patterns surfacing in close pink and dropped magenta tones. Hand-stitched panel seams are visible on close approach and disappear at room scale. The pile direction varies subtly between panels, which gives the surface a soft sheen under angled light. The colour will hold and the under-drawing will become more legible over time.
What you are buying
Comparable saturated patchwork pieces appear in European design galleries at four to eight thousand euros and well-finished examples in this register are unusually rare. This is a contemporary reclamation supplied substantially below dealer levels. The carpet appreciates with use rather than depreciating, which is the structural property of any serious hand-finished floor.
The piece in a room
6' x 9' (183 x 274 cm) holds a primary lounge or a generous bedroom. Festival fuschia pairs with limewashed white, with putty walls, with brass, with walnut wood, and with pale linen upholstery. The rug expects to be the colour event in the composition.
Conservation
Vacuum weekly, suction only. Rotate end-to-end at the change of seasons. Blot spills with absorbent cotton, never rub. A wool conservator should wash the rug every five to seven years. The piece expects a sixty-to-eighty-year life on this regimen.

Day-to-day care
- Vacuum gently once a week without a rotating brush bar — use the suction-only setting on hand-knotted or hand-tufted pieces.
- Rotate the rug 180° every 3-6 months so foot traffic and sunlight wear is even.
- Use a quality rug pad underneath for slip resistance and to extend life.
- Blot fresh spills immediately with a clean white cloth — do not rub. Work from the edge of the spill inward.
Deep cleaning
- Professional dry-cleaning is recommended every 12-24 months for hand-knotted carpets.
- Avoid steam cleaners and hot water on natural-fibre rugs (wool, silk, jute) — they can cause shrinkage and dye bleeding.
- For washable flat-weaves and cotton dhurries, machine-wash on a gentle cold cycle in a mesh bag.
Storage
- Roll (do not fold) the carpet around a clean cardboard tube, pile-side in.
- Wrap in breathable cotton sheeting (not plastic) and store in a cool, dry, well-ventilated space.
- Use moth-protection sachets if storing wool for more than a season.

Frequently asked
How long will shipping take?
Most metros (Delhi NCR, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad, Kolkata) receive their order in 3-5 business days. Tier-2 cities take 5-7 business days, and remote pin codes (J&K, North-East, Andamans) take 7-10 business days. Use the pin-code checker above for a concrete delivery date.
Will the colour exactly match the photo?
Each carpet is hand-crafted with natural-dye yarns, so a small variation in shade, pattern density, and tone is expected and is part of the authenticity of a handmade piece. Colours on screen also vary by monitor and lighting. If you are matching a specific decor, request a yarn sample before ordering.
Can I get a sample before buying?
Yes — we send 2-3 small yarn / pile samples for ₹500 (refundable against your purchase). Message us on WhatsApp with the SKU and your shipping pin code to arrange a sample.
What is your returns process?
Returns are accepted within 7 days of delivery in original condition (rolled, not folded; no pet hair, smoke, or stains). Email care@rugsville.in or message us on WhatsApp with your order number — we arrange free reverse pickup in most pin codes. Refunds are processed within 3-5 working days of receipt at our warehouse.
Do you take custom orders?
Yes. Custom-size, custom-colour, and custom-design hand-knotted carpets typically take 4-8 weeks depending on size and complexity. Minimum custom-order size is 4'×6'. Send us your brief on WhatsApp with the room photo and dimensions for a quote.
Is Cash on Delivery (COD) available?
COD is available for most pin codes in zones A and B (metros and tier-2 cities). Some remote pin codes are prepaid only — the pin-code checker above will tell you immediately.
