Studio work between Turkish and Indian textile designers has produced a vocabulary of pattern that reads at distance and reveals on approach. The composition is asymmetric in a quiet way; what looks balanced from the door turns out to carry small offsets of colour and line as you move across it. The result is a faded Oriental field in multi, scaled and balanced to live as the visual ground of a contemporary room.
The pattern was developed in studio work between Indian and Turkish design teams and produced on jacquard looms in Turkey. The composition reads as a single considered field rather than a tile, with densities tightening at the centre and opening toward the edges.
The fibre
Heat-set polypropylene. The yarn is engineered so colour is locked in by temperature rather than dipped on the surface, which is why multi stays saturated under direct daylight without fading the way pigment-printed pile does. The fibre resists staining at the molecular level: spilled wine, juice, oil, and coffee lift with a damp cloth before they set. The pile holds shape under furniture and does not shed.
The composition
The field is built around multi with the supporting tones laid in to give the eye somewhere to rest. There is no single focal point; the composition is read across rather than into. The carpet pairs with walnut, oak, brass, leather, linen, and warm wood floors. It pairs poorly with strongly patterned upholstery, because the rug expects to be the only graphic element in the room.
The piece in a room
5'4" x 7'7" (163 × 231 cm) is the working scale for a primary bedroom under a queen frame, a medium living area, or a square dining setting for six to eight.
Care
Vacuum once a week. Heat-set polypropylene resists most household stains; wine, coffee, and oil lift with a damp cloth before they set. Machine wash on a cool cycle if needed. The pile recovers loft after a light steam.

Day-to-day care
- Vacuum gently once a week without a rotating brush bar — use the suction-only setting on hand-knotted or hand-tufted pieces.
- Rotate the rug 180° every 3-6 months so foot traffic and sunlight wear is even.
- Use a quality rug pad underneath for slip resistance and to extend life.
- Blot fresh spills immediately with a clean white cloth — do not rub. Work from the edge of the spill inward.
Deep cleaning
- Professional dry-cleaning is recommended every 12-24 months for hand-knotted carpets.
- Avoid steam cleaners and hot water on natural-fibre rugs (wool, silk, jute) — they can cause shrinkage and dye bleeding.
- For washable flat-weaves and cotton dhurries, machine-wash on a gentle cold cycle in a mesh bag.
Storage
- Roll (do not fold) the carpet around a clean cardboard tube, pile-side in.
- Wrap in breathable cotton sheeting (not plastic) and store in a cool, dry, well-ventilated space.
- Use moth-protection sachets if storing wool for more than a season.

Each carpet is hand-crafted with natural-dye yarns, so a small variation in shade, pattern density, and tone is expected and is part of the authenticity of a handmade piece. Colours on screen also vary by monitor and lighting. If you are matching a specific decor, request a yarn sample before ordering.
Can I get a sample before buying?
Yes — we send 2-3 small yarn / pile samples for ₹500 (refundable against your purchase). Message us on WhatsApp with the SKU and your shipping pin code to arrange a sample.
What is your returns process?
Returns are accepted within 7 days of delivery in original condition (rolled, not folded; no pet hair, smoke, or stains). Email care@rugsville.in or message us on WhatsApp with your order number — we arrange free reverse pickup in most pin codes. Refunds are processed within 3-5 working days of receipt at our warehouse.
Do you take custom orders?
Yes. Custom-size, custom-colour, and custom-design hand-knotted carpets typically take 4-8 weeks depending on size and complexity. Minimum custom-order size is 4'×6'. Send us your brief on WhatsApp with the room photo and dimensions for a quote.
Is Cash on Delivery (COD) available?
COD is available for most pin codes in zones A and B (metros and tier-2 cities). Some remote pin codes are prepaid only — the pin-code checker above will tell you immediately.
