Rugsville Yazmin Brown Floral Transitional Carpet 5'3" x 7'4"

The design carries elements of three older traditions in conversation: the densely-drawn medallion carpets of western Persia, the open lattice fields of central Anatolia, and the abstract pattern language that European designers refined through the twentieth century.

A floral lineage carried in a brown palette: medallion, scrolling vine, framed border, the same architecture that defines the older Persian and Mughal carpets. The colour reads with the saturation that engineered fibres hold under both daylight and tungsten. The drawing was adapted from older formal sources but redrawn for the loom this rug was made on, with the corner spandrels and the central rosette resized so the composition holds at this rectangle.

The fibre

Heat-set polypropylene yarn. The dye is fused into the fibre during manufacture rather than dyed on at the surface, so the colour does not fade under window light or strong sunlight. Spills bead on the surface long enough to be lifted with a cloth. No shedding, no pile loss under chair legs, no fibre release into the room air.

The composition

The brown reading is calm under all light conditions. Walls in clay, off-white, or warm grey hold the colour. The geometry resolves at room scale and rewards closer viewing without insisting on it. The pile sits low enough that doors and chair legs glide across the surface without catching.

The piece in a room

5' x 7' (152 x 213 cm). At 5' x 8' or 6' x 9' the rug anchors a seating area of two facing sofas, a king bed with the front two feet of the frame on the rug, or a dining table for four to six. The pile holds its level under sofa legs and bed feet without crushing, which keeps the brown reading uniform across years of use.

Care

Vacuum weekly with the beater bar engaged or disengaged, the fibre tolerates either. Spot clean with mild detergent on a clean cotton cloth. Machine wash on a cold cycle if a spill does not lift; the size folds to fit a domestic drum. Dries flat in two hours. No professional cleaning required, no rotating-brush damage to worry about, no shedding into the room air.
