The wool is hand-spun and vegetable-dyed in a careful sequence of weld, oak gall, and walnut hull baths to hold the palette inside the warm-neutral range.

The composition

A faintly drawn central medallion sits on a continuous neutral ground. Cream, ivory, pearl, and the palest taupe move into one another with no hard boundaries. Silk highlights trace the medallion edge and the corner spandrels, picking up light at a different sheen than the wool. The whole composition behaves as a tonal painting rather than as a graphic statement.
