A studio in continuous conversation with both the kilim weavers of central Anatolia and the post-war European designers who reduced pattern to its essentials. The composition was iterated for months in graphite and gouache before the looms received it.
A floral lineage carried in a multicolour palette: medallion, scrolling vine, framed border, the same architecture that defines the older Persian and Mughal carpets. The colour reads with the saturation that engineered fibres hold under both daylight and tungsten. The drawing was adapted from older formal sources but redrawn for the loom this rug was made on, with the corner spandrels and the central rosette resized so the composition holds at this rectangle.
The fibre
Heat-set polypropylene. The colour is locked at the fibre level by temperature rather than dipped at the surface, which is why direct sunlight does not wash the saturation out the way it bleaches pigment-printed yarns. The fibre resists staining at the molecular level: spilled wine, juice, oil and coffee lift with a damp cloth before they set. The pile stays flat under furniture and does not shed.
The composition
The pattern is restrained enough to live under bright art and dense furniture without competing. The multicolour sits as a quiet field. Best paired with mid-tone wood, brushed metal, and uncluttered upholstery. The fibre carries colour with more saturation than a wool weave at the same price point, which makes the design read clearly even under low ambient light.
The piece in a room
5' x 8' (152 x 244 cm). The format is the working scale of the Indian flat: a sofa-and-coffee-table arrangement, a bedroom under a queen, or a dining nook. The piece tolerates rolling chair traffic, food spills, and weekly vacuuming without showing wear in the way a wool rug at the same price would.
Care
Vacuum weekly, suction or beater bar acceptable. Mild detergent and a damp cloth handle most spills inside the first ten minutes. The piece can be machine washed cold if needed and dries flat in a couple of hours. Professional cleaning is not required for the lifetime of the rug. The fibre handles repeated cleaning without losing colour or pile structure.

Day-to-day care
- Vacuum gently once a week without a rotating brush bar — use the suction-only setting on hand-knotted or hand-tufted pieces.
- Rotate the rug 180° every 3-6 months so foot traffic and sunlight wear is even.
- Use a quality rug pad underneath for slip resistance and to extend life.
- Blot fresh spills immediately with a clean white cloth — do not rub. Work from the edge of the spill inward.
Deep cleaning
- Professional dry-cleaning is recommended every 12-24 months for hand-knotted carpets.
- Avoid steam cleaners and hot water on natural-fibre rugs (wool, silk, jute) — they can cause shrinkage and dye bleeding.
- For washable flat-weaves and cotton dhurries, machine-wash on a gentle cold cycle in a mesh bag.
Storage
- Roll (do not fold) the carpet around a clean cardboard tube, pile-side in.
- Wrap in breathable cotton sheeting (not plastic) and store in a cool, dry, well-ventilated space.
- Use moth-protection sachets if storing wool for more than a season.

Frequently asked
How long will shipping take?
Most metros (Delhi NCR, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad, Kolkata) receive their order in 3-5 business days. Tier-2 cities take 5-7 business days, and remote pin codes (J&K, North-East, Andamans) take 7-10 business days. Use the pin-code checker above for a concrete delivery date.
Will the colour exactly match the photo?
Each carpet is hand-crafted with natural-dye yarns, so a small variation in shade, pattern density, and tone is expected and is part of the authenticity of a handmade piece. Colours on screen also vary by monitor and lighting. If you are matching a specific decor, request a yarn sample before ordering.
Can I get a sample before buying?
Yes — we send 2-3 small yarn / pile samples for ₹500 (refundable against your purchase). Message us on WhatsApp with the SKU and your shipping pin code to arrange a sample.
What is your returns process?
Returns are accepted within 7 days of delivery in original condition (rolled, not folded; no pet hair, smoke, or stains). Email care@rugsville.in or message us on WhatsApp with your order number — we arrange free reverse pickup in most pin codes. Refunds are processed within 3-5 working days of receipt at our warehouse.
Do you take custom orders?
Yes. Custom-size, custom-colour, and custom-design hand-knotted carpets typically take 4-8 weeks depending on size and complexity. Minimum custom-order size is 4'×6'. Send us your brief on WhatsApp with the room photo and dimensions for a quote.
Is Cash on Delivery (COD) available?
COD is available for most pin codes in zones A and B (metros and tier-2 cities). Some remote pin codes are prepaid only — the pin-code checker above will tell you immediately.
