The finished pile was sheared by hand with long blades.

A continuous floral repeat in the beige and light brown register, no medallion, with the slight tonal drift between rows that hand-spinning produces. The motifs pull from the classical Indian decorative vocabulary, simplified at the curve and broadened at the leaf so they read as quiet pattern rather than as ornament. The piece will lighten gently across the next decade as the wool oxidises in ambient light, deepening the contrast between figure and ground.
