The geometric vocabulary of the southwestern weaving tradition runs across cultures that never met. The same stepped diamonds and banded fields show up in the Navajo blankets of the American southwest, the kilims of central Anatolia, and the dhurries of western India. The form survives because the loom imposes the geometry. A horizontal loom and a coloured weft will produce these shapes whether the weaver intends them or not.
Hand-woven in India by 3 weavers over three to four weeks. Wool weft worked across a cotton warp on a flat loom. The multicolour composition is reversible, with the same pattern reading on both faces. The rug folds to ship and recovers its shape within a day of being laid out.
The composition
The composition holds a multicolour field at the centre and lets the supporting tones drift across the body of the rug rather than confining them to a border. The rug is composed as a single surface, not a tile to be repeated. The wool pile gives the colour a slight optical depth that flat-printed alternatives cannot reach. The pattern is paced so that the field reads from across the room and the detail rewards walking closer.
The piece in a room
At 6' x 9' (6' x 9' (183 x 274 cm)), the carpet anchors a medium living area or a primary bedroom with the bed sitting on its top third. The multicolour field gives a considered ground for low upholstery and for a coffee table that sits squarely inside the rug rather than spanning its edges.
Care
Vacuum gently with the beater off. The flatweave structure means the rug can be flipped twice a year so both faces wear evenly. Blot spills, never rub. For deeper cleaning, hand wash with cool water and mild soap, lay flat to dry. Avoid prolonged direct sunlight on the same panel of the field across long stretches of the year.

Day-to-day care
- Vacuum gently once a week without a rotating brush bar — use the suction-only setting on hand-knotted or hand-tufted pieces.
- Rotate the rug 180° every 3-6 months so foot traffic and sunlight wear is even.
- Use a quality rug pad underneath for slip resistance and to extend life.
- Blot fresh spills immediately with a clean white cloth — do not rub. Work from the edge of the spill inward.
Deep cleaning
- Professional dry-cleaning is recommended every 12-24 months for hand-knotted carpets.
- Avoid steam cleaners and hot water on natural-fibre rugs (wool, silk, jute) — they can cause shrinkage and dye bleeding.
- For washable flat-weaves and cotton dhurries, machine-wash on a gentle cold cycle in a mesh bag.
Storage
- Roll (do not fold) the carpet around a clean cardboard tube, pile-side in.
- Wrap in breathable cotton sheeting (not plastic) and store in a cool, dry, well-ventilated space.
- Use moth-protection sachets if storing wool for more than a season.

Colours on screen also vary by monitor and lighting. If you are matching a specific decor, request a yarn sample before ordering.
Can I get a sample before buying?
Yes — we send 2-3 small yarn / pile samples for ₹500 (refundable against your purchase). Message us on WhatsApp with the SKU and your shipping pin code to arrange a sample.
What is your returns process?
Returns are accepted within 7 days of delivery in original condition (rolled, not folded; no pet hair, smoke, or stains). Email care@rugsville.in or message us on WhatsApp with your order number — we arrange free reverse pickup in most pin codes. Refunds are processed within 3-5 working days of receipt at our warehouse.
Do you take custom orders?
Yes. Custom-size, custom-colour, and custom-design hand-knotted carpets typically take 4-8 weeks depending on size and complexity. Minimum custom-order size is 4'×6'. Send us your brief on WhatsApp with the room photo and dimensions for a quote.
Is Cash on Delivery (COD) available?
COD is available for most pin codes in zones A and B (metros and tier-2 cities). Some remote pin codes are prepaid only — the pin-code checker above will tell you immediately.
