A contemporary composition in grey, drawn so the densities tighten through the centre and open along the borders rather than tiling repetitively across the field. The pattern was developed in a contemporary studio that works between Anatolian colour and European geometry, refined over months of graphite drawings and ink studies before it was committed to a sample loom and then to a full production run.
The colour was tuned for living rooms with neutral architecture and one strong accent piece. The fibre was chosen for the working life of a household with foot traffic, pets, and the unforeseen spills that come with a lived-in interior. The result is a rug that takes the look of an investment carpet and translates it into a working price point without losing the geometry and proportion that justified the original drawing in the first place.
The fibre
Heat-set polypropylene engineered for high-traffic interiors. The colour was locked into the fibre during manufacture rather than applied as a finish, which gives the rug its UV stability and its resistance to staining. Common household spills wipe up with water before they soak in. The pile carries furniture without permanent compression and does not shed across the working life of the piece.
The composition
A single saturated grey ground carries the contemporary composition through subtle changes of tone. The composition relies on geometry rather than on colour contrast to organise the eye. The colour pairs naturally with warm wood, polished brass, and oiled leather. Avoid putting it against a strongly patterned sofa, where the two will fight for the eye.
The piece in a room
At 5' x 8' (152 x 244 cm) the rug centres a coffee table with a two-seater floating above, holds a study reading corner, or sits in a guest bedroom. Care

Day-to-day care
- Vacuum gently once a week without a rotating brush bar — use the suction-only setting on hand-knotted or hand-tufted pieces.
- Rotate the rug 180° every 3-6 months so foot traffic and sunlight wear is even.
- Use a quality rug pad underneath for slip resistance and to extend life.
- Blot fresh spills immediately with a clean white cloth — do not rub. Work from the edge of the spill inward.
Deep cleaning
- Professional dry-cleaning is recommended every 12-24 months for hand-knotted carpets.
- Avoid steam cleaners and hot water on natural-fibre rugs (wool, silk, jute) — they can cause shrinkage and dye bleeding.
- For washable flat-weaves and cotton dhurries, machine-wash on a gentle cold cycle in a mesh bag.
Storage
- Roll (do not fold) the carpet around a clean cardboard tube, pile-side in.
- Wrap in breathable cotton sheeting (not plastic) and store in a cool, dry, well-ventilated space.
- Use moth-protection sachets if storing wool for more than a season.

Can I get a sample before buying?
Yes — we send 2-3 small yarn / pile samples for ₹500 (refundable against your purchase). Message us on WhatsApp with the SKU and your shipping pin code to arrange a sample.
What is your returns process?
Returns are accepted within 7 days of delivery in original condition (rolled, not folded; no pet hair, smoke, or stains). Email care@rugsville.in or message us on WhatsApp with your order number — we arrange free reverse pickup in most pin codes. Refunds are processed within 3-5 working days of receipt at our warehouse.
Do you take custom orders?
Yes. Custom-size, custom-colour, and custom-design hand-knotted carpets typically take 4-8 weeks depending on size and complexity. Minimum custom-order size is 4'×6'. Send us your brief on WhatsApp with the room photo and dimensions for a quote.
Is Cash on Delivery (COD) available?
COD is available for most pin codes in zones A and B (metros and tier-2 cities). Some remote pin codes are prepaid only — the pin-code checker above will tell you immediately.
