The composition reads as a tribal motifs, drawn in the studio over several months before it was approved for production. The palette of polychrome was tuned for living rooms with neutral architecture and one strong colour element, not as a hero on its own but as the field everything else stands on. The drawing was refined again on a sample loom before the run was committed.
The provenance of the design lies in the cross-pollination of Turkish and European design ateliers in the early 2000s, when contemporary geometry was being translated into floor coverings that could carry domestic foot traffic without the maintenance burden of hand-knotted wool. The result is a piece that takes the look of an investment carpet into a working household at a working price.
The fibre
Heat-set polypropylene yarn. The colour is locked into the fibre by temperature during extrusion, not by a topical dye, which is why the saturation holds against years of direct sunlight. Spills sit on the surface long enough to lift with a damp cloth before they set, and the pile springs back from compression after furniture is moved off it.
The composition
A single saturated polychrome ground carries the tribal motifs through subtle changes of tone. The composition relies on geometry rather than on colour contrast to organise the eye. The result sits comfortably with mid-tone wood, leather, and warm metal, and asks for a quiet room around it rather than a busy one.
The piece in a room
At 5' x 8' (152 x 244 cm) the rug centres a coffee table with a two-seater floating above, holds a study reading corner, or sits in a guest bedroom. The fibre carries the foot traffic, sun exposure, and pet activity that would compromise a wool piece. The drawing reads as classical or contemporary depending on the room it is placed in.
Care
Regular vacuuming and an occasional damp wipe is the entire maintenance cycle. Stains from food, wine, or pet accidents lift with mild soap and water. The fibre does not absorb moisture or hold odour. For a deeper refresh once or twice a year, sponge the surface with cool water and let it air dry on a clean floor.

Day-to-day care
- Vacuum gently once a week without a rotating brush bar — use the suction-only setting on hand-knotted or hand-tufted pieces.
- Rotate the rug 180° every 3-6 months so foot traffic and sunlight wear is even.
- Use a quality rug pad underneath for slip resistance and to extend life.
- Blot fresh spills immediately with a clean white cloth — do not rub. Work from the edge of the spill inward.
Deep cleaning
- Professional dry-cleaning is recommended every 12-24 months for hand-knotted carpets.
- Avoid steam cleaners and hot water on natural-fibre rugs (wool, silk, jute) — they can cause shrinkage and dye bleeding.
- For washable flat-weaves and cotton dhurries, machine-wash on a gentle cold cycle in a mesh bag.
Storage
- Roll (do not fold) the carpet around a clean cardboard tube, pile-side in.
- Wrap in breathable cotton sheeting (not plastic) and store in a cool, dry, well-ventilated space.
- Use moth-protection sachets if storing wool for more than a season.

Can I get a sample before buying?
Yes — we send 2-3 small yarn / pile samples for ₹500 (refundable against your purchase). Message us on WhatsApp with the SKU and your shipping pin code to arrange a sample.
What is your returns process?
Returns are accepted within 7 days of delivery in original condition (rolled, not folded; no pet hair, smoke, or stains). Email care@rugsville.in or message us on WhatsApp with your order number — we arrange free reverse pickup in most pin codes. Refunds are processed within 3-5 working days of receipt at our warehouse.
Do you take custom orders?
Yes. Custom-size, custom-colour, and custom-design hand-knotted carpets typically take 4-8 weeks depending on size and complexity. Minimum custom-order size is 4'×6'. Send us your brief on WhatsApp with the room photo and dimensions for a quote.
Is Cash on Delivery (COD) available?
COD is available for most pin codes in zones A and B (metros and tier-2 cities). Some remote pin codes are prepaid only — the pin-code checker above will tell you immediately.
