The squares are arranged in an irregular grid, with hand-shearing performed after the carpet came off the loom to lower the pile in select panels and create a tactile relief between the recessed and full-height sections.

The composition

Gold and rust dominate the warm side of the field, blue carries the cool counterpoint, and cream sits as the quiet binder between them. Each square holds its own small geometric or floral incident, never repeated in the panel adjacent to it. The colour reads jewel-rich under lamplight and softens in daylight; the long-twist hand-spun wool scatters light unevenly which is what gives the carpet its depth. Over time the rust will deepen and the blue will settle a half tone richer.
