The pattern in this rug belongs to the long lineage of Persian drawings that move between Persian, Turkish, and contemporary studios. The colour register is settled and the pattern holds at room scale, with the field designed as one continuous composition rather than as a tile that happens to repeat across a larger surface.
What sits on the loom is the result of months of preparation. The blue palette was tested against actual furniture and walls before approval; the Persian drawing was scaled and re-scaled so the figure works at sofa distance and at door distance equally well. The production loom carries the design with the discipline that hand-knotting cannot match for repeatability and price.
The fibre
Heat-set polypropylene yarn. Colour-locked at the molecular level, sun-stable, water-shedding. The pile stays flat under chair legs and resists everyday spills with no maintenance beyond a weekly vacuum. The rug is engineered for daily household use rather than for careful preservation.
The composition
Blue grounds the surface. Persian drawing organises the field. The rug holds a composition without forcing a focal point, which is what most rooms ask of a floor covering when the rest of the space is already pulling in different directions. The colour and figure work together rather than fighting each other for attention.
The piece in a room
5' x 8' (152 x 244 cm) is the working scale for living rooms in flats, dining areas under a six-seater, primary bedrooms, and corridors with foot traffic the wool tier would not survive. The geometry holds at distance and reveals on approach, and the rug pairs comfortably with both warm and cool wood floors. Lighter walls push the blue forward as a focal field; darker walls let it settle into the architecture.
Care
Weekly vacuum. Damp-cloth on any spill. The pile takes a cold hand or machine wash without losing colour. Dries flat in a couple of hours. No specialist care needed; the construction is designed to handle daily use in a household with pets, children, and direct light.

Day-to-day care
- Vacuum gently once a week without a rotating brush bar — use the suction-only setting on hand-knotted or hand-tufted pieces.
- Rotate the rug 180° every 3-6 months so foot traffic and sunlight wear is even.
- Use a quality rug pad underneath for slip resistance and to extend life.
- Blot fresh spills immediately with a clean white cloth — do not rub. Work from the edge of the spill inward.
Deep cleaning
- Professional dry-cleaning is recommended every 12-24 months for hand-knotted carpets.
- Avoid steam cleaners and hot water on natural-fibre rugs (wool, silk, jute) — they can cause shrinkage and dye bleeding.
- For washable flat-weaves and cotton dhurries, machine-wash on a gentle cold cycle in a mesh bag.
Storage
- Roll (do not fold) the carpet around a clean cardboard tube, pile-side in.
- Wrap in breathable cotton sheeting (not plastic) and store in a cool, dry, well-ventilated space.
- Use moth-protection sachets if storing wool for more than a season.

Colours on screen also vary by monitor and lighting. If you are matching a specific decor, request a yarn sample before ordering.
Can I get a sample before buying?
Yes — we send 2-3 small yarn / pile samples for ₹500 (refundable against your purchase). Message us on WhatsApp with the SKU and your shipping pin code to arrange a sample.
What is your returns process?
Returns are accepted within 7 days of delivery in original condition (rolled, not folded; no pet hair, smoke, or stains). Email care@rugsville.in or message us on WhatsApp with your order number — we arrange free reverse pickup in most pin codes. Refunds are processed within 3-5 working days of receipt at our warehouse.
Do you take custom orders?
Yes. Custom-size, custom-colour, and custom-design hand-knotted carpets typically take 4-8 weeks depending on size and complexity. Minimum custom-order size is 4'×6'. Send us your brief on WhatsApp with the room photo and dimensions for a quote.
Is Cash on Delivery (COD) available?
COD is available for most pin codes in zones A and B (metros and tier-2 cities). Some remote pin codes are prepaid only — the pin-code checker above will tell you immediately.
