Contemporary geometry on the floor does what mid-century Scandinavian textiles did for the wall. The composition is built around restraint, the colour palette is limited by intent, and the rug does not announce itself in a room.
The drawing reads as resolved rather than busy. A grey field, a measured motif, and supporting tones that earn their place in the composition. The studio held the design through several iterations before signing it off, watching the colour at sample scale before committing to a full run. The discipline shows in the way the eye moves across the surface.
The fibre
Heat-set polypropylene yarn, jacquard-woven on the loom. The fibre takes pigment at the molecular level and resists the sun-bleaching that affects natural fibres over a few seasons. The pile recovers from furniture compression and does not shed. The construction is engineered to survive a decade of use in a primary living space without losing its read or its colour.
The composition
At room scale the grey carries the field as a single colour event. Up close the design vocabulary resolves into the motifs the studio drew from. Best with restrained upholstery, mid-tone walls, and warm wood floors that let the colour register breathe. The piece is engineered to set a quiet ground for the rest of the room rather than to compete with it.
The piece in a room
At 5' x 7' (152 × 213 cm) the rug supports a primary seating arrangement or a small dining group. The grey field holds against natural light and against warm interior lighting both. The geometry is calibrated for room-scale viewing; pair with mid-tone walls, restrained upholstery, and one strong piece of art rather than several competing graphic elements.
Care
Vacuum weekly with a standard upright. Spot clean with mild detergent on a clean cotton cloth, working from the outside of the spill toward the centre. The rug accepts a cool 30°C machine wash if a spill resists spot cleaning, and dries flat in a few hours indoors. No professional cleaning required at any point in the rug's life. Furniture rotation each season prevents compression at fixed points.

Day-to-day care
- Vacuum gently once a week without a rotating brush bar — use the suction-only setting on hand-knotted or hand-tufted pieces.
- Rotate the rug 180° every 3-6 months so foot traffic and sunlight wear is even.
- Use a quality rug pad underneath for slip resistance and to extend life.
- Blot fresh spills immediately with a clean white cloth — do not rub. Work from the edge of the spill inward.
Deep cleaning
- Professional dry-cleaning is recommended every 12-24 months for hand-knotted carpets.
- Avoid steam cleaners and hot water on natural-fibre rugs (wool, silk, jute) — they can cause shrinkage and dye bleeding.
- For washable flat-weaves and cotton dhurries, machine-wash on a gentle cold cycle in a mesh bag.
Storage
- Roll (do not fold) the carpet around a clean cardboard tube, pile-side in.
- Wrap in breathable cotton sheeting (not plastic) and store in a cool, dry, well-ventilated space.
- Use moth-protection sachets if storing wool for more than a season.

Will the colour exactly match the photo?
Each carpet is hand-crafted with natural-dye yarns, so a small variation in shade, pattern density, and tone is expected and is part of the authenticity of a handmade piece. Colours on screen also vary by monitor and lighting. If you are matching a specific decor, request a yarn sample before ordering.
Can I get a sample before buying?
Yes — we send 2-3 small yarn / pile samples for ₹500 (refundable against your purchase). Message us on WhatsApp with the SKU and your shipping pin code to arrange a sample.
What is your returns process?
Returns are accepted within 7 days of delivery in original condition (rolled, not folded; no pet hair, smoke, or stains). Email care@rugsville.in or message us on WhatsApp with your order number — we arrange free reverse pickup in most pin codes. Refunds are processed within 3-5 working days of receipt at our warehouse.
Do you take custom orders?
Yes. Custom-size, custom-colour, and custom-design hand-knotted carpets typically take 4-8 weeks depending on size and complexity. Minimum custom-order size is 4'×6'. Send us your brief on WhatsApp with the room photo and dimensions for a quote.
Is Cash on Delivery (COD) available?
COD is available for most pin codes in zones A and B (metros and tier-2 cities). Some remote pin codes are prepaid only — the pin-code checker above will tell you immediately.
