The Persian pattern in this rug was developed by a contemporary studio in dialogue with vintage source material. The drawing was iterated for several months in pencil and digital colour proof before going to the loom. What began as a study of antique textiles ended as a composition that suits a present-day living room without quoting the past too literally.

The brown palette was tested against multiple light scenarios. The drawing was finalised once the colour read consistently in daylight, in tungsten, and under the warm white LED that most living rooms now run. Each yarn was specified by a precise colour code rather than picked from stock, which is what gives the rug its disciplined chromatic register.

The composition

Pattern density is even across the field. The brown palette holds at distance and reveals tonal nuance on approach. The rug suits a room that is otherwise quiet in pattern; busy upholstery will fight it. Pair with solid-colour sofas, plain curtains, and a single graphic element on the wall to give the composition a clean read.

The fibre

Heat-set polypropylene pile. Colour is fixed by heat, not by surface dye, so the rug does not fade in sunlit rooms. The fibre rejects stains: water, oil-based, and pigment-based spills lift with a damp cloth. There is no shedding, no shedding-related allergen issue, and the fibre is suitable for households with cats and dogs.
